Strikes in South Africa show the heart of a brutal nation

In a previous post on the strikes in South Africa I wrote:

"Striking in this country is never just a matter of downing tools. It inevitably leads to violence, intimidation, destruction and in several cases, death! This is a culture that the ANC bred under the previous government, and has lost control of since they took over the South African government."
These strikes show the heart of a nation that is brutal, a nation with demands that show no sympathy for those that are truly in need. It is a nation that truly shows no love for its fellow citizens that are in dire need and in some cases dying. This is a nation where the plight of the poor fall on deaf ears and promises of help are just that, promises! It is a nation where promises lead to votes, as in the case of the ANC, but where the promises lead nowhere!

This is a nation where a man in desperate need of an arm saving operation after his hand had been cut off, is turned away from 2 hospitals by strikers who have no sympathy for those in real need.

Sex please! But no Meat!

"Instead, many engage in a sexual free-for-all—but put stringent moral strictures on anything to do with food. A modern young woman might think nothing of living with several different men, and having abortions when she gets pregnant. But she would not dream of eating anything from a factory farm. That would be immoral.

"In effect, some people have reversed the 'moral poles' of sex and eating, Eberstadt writes. They are engaging in 'mindful eating and mindless sex.'

"Why is this happening? As Eberstadt writes, 'It is hard to avoid the conclusion that rules being drawn around food receive some force from the fact that people are uncomfortable with how far the sexual revolution has gone.'"

Nut jobs limb-ping!

The human race will never cease to amaze me! It doesn't surprise me, though!

There are people out there that would like to have their healthy limbs amputated! Yip! You heard right! This psychological disorder is called BIID (Body Integrity Identity Disorder).

Now, if you think this is strange or wacko, there are actually psychos psychiatrists that say that the proper way to treat these people would be to acquiesce to their BIID demands! That is almost unbelievable!

The reason that I am not surprised at this lunacy of limb-ping, or even with those that want to "treat" them, is that I know what is in the heart of man. The Bible tells us that the heart of man is desperately wicked. It also tells us that we are born in sin. The difference between the Biblical diagnosis and the humanistic diagnosis is that the humanistic diagnosis does not offer any help here. It simply sees it as a psychological disorder. The Biblical diagnosis sees the heart of the problem as a matter of sin. That mankind can sink to such low levels as wanting to amputate itself, points to a culture that has become enamored with deviancy and death. Nihilistic tendencies abound, and limb-ping is just one of them.

The solution is not to consent to limb-ping, which simply exacerbates the problem, but to provide a deliverance from this "disorder." Love doesn't cut off a healthy limb! Only self-loathing can lead a person to limb-ping! Love will point to the Creator, Jesus Christ, and the fact that He alone can bring people to deal with their problems.

(13) For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. (14) I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. (Psa 139:13-14)

When we tell God that He made a mistake, and that we know better about ourselves, we effectively tell God that He failed. He doesn't!

Instead of destroying people's lives, real compassion will lead these people to a loving Christ, and not to a hop-along Cassidy life!
