MUGABE’S LEGACY in the LIGHT OF ETERNITY

Mugabe the villain
Mugabe the Villian!

I received a newsletter that is "usually" written by Peter Hammond. In this article he writes about Robert Mugabe, former President of Zimbabwe. What do you think about the article? If you would like to respond to the article, you can write to Peter Hammond at mission@frontline.org.za.

Zim will not change with Mugabe as Prez

Those who have conned themselves into thinking that there would be a dramatic change when a government of national unity was instituted in Zimbabwe, must look again.

Mugabe is his himself and he hasn’t changed his tune at all. While he remains in power in Zimbabwe that country does not stand a chance. He is still a donkey’s posterior and he still thinks with something that is not his brain.

The fact that SADC is patting themselves on the back with their solution in Zimbabwe, shows once again how out of touch that organization is with reality. In common parlance, insane.

Mugabe still continues to call for white farmers to be thrown off their farms.

Mugabe walks tall while his country is laid low

Mugabe, arguably one of the most evil leaders that has walked on African soil, continues to walk tall and proud while his country continues to be laid low on every front.

Here is a man that is as racist as they come, he has committed numerous human rights violations, and has driven his country to ruin. He is at the forefront of bringing the former bread basket of Africa, Zimbabwe, to its complete demise
. His communist ideals have propped him up as the saviour of nothing and joker of the international community.

Yet, the South African President, Thabo Mbeki, continues with the lunacy of quiet diplomacy!

This quiet diplomacy has proven to be utterly foolish while the people of Zimbabwe go without life's necessities. Further, the racist Mugabe has made sure that whites are not welcome in his country and got rid of almost all white farmers. Many through violent means! Mugabe also throws people into jail on a whim when people oppose his evil policies. Free speech is free only to those who agree with him.

Yet, Mbeki wants to be nice to the guy! While Mb
eki does not have the guts to demand change in Zimbabwe, many Zimbabweans are streaming into South Africa, many taking jobs where South Africans should be working. I do not say that we should be nasty to Zimbabweans. Far from it! They deserve care, which their own government knows nothing about. If South Africa declares this a state of emergency and provides Zimbabweans refugee status, then we could at least get financial help from the U.N. That means, we would not have to use the money that we so desperately need, on the refugees.

Mugabe should be brought down to earth. How that can be done I do not know. Perhaps Mbeki and the SADC leaders must show that they have a little fortitude and tell Mugabe that he no longer has their support. But, then again, the current South African government seems to be a friend of torturous regimes.

Is this really the legacy that
Mugabe wants to leave behind?

It is time Mugabe goes and that proper government is restored. Once he is out, he and all his ZANU-PF cronies should be brought before an international court for gross human rights violations!

Justice must be served!

African leaders have no moral resolve

The leaders of 14 Southern African countries met at a Southern African Development Community summit to discuss the problems caused by Zimbabwean dictator, Robert Mugabe.

In a statement, these spineless leaders said,

"The extraordinary summit appeals for the lifting of all forms of sanctions against Zimbabwe... The extraordinary summit appeals for the lifting of all forms of sanctions against Zimbabwe... [and] reaffirms its solidarity with the government and the people of Zimbabwe."
The South African government was also represented.

It seems to me that these leaders fail to grasp the level of human rights violations that are committed by Mugabe and his evil regime!

It is morally reprehensible that these leaders, including the South African leaders, would rather do nothing, and say next to nothing on this issue that might just offend the dictatorship of Robert Mugabe!

Mugabe has become one of the most arrogant African presidents, because in his mind, the SADC leaders are behind him.

I can understand the solidarity of SADC with the people of Zimbabwe, but with Mugabe's evil regime?

In many people's minds, Mugabe has become the clown of Africa. However, when I think of him as a clown, it certainly is not a funny clown, but rather a clown such as Pennywise the evil alien clown portrayed in Stephen King's 1990 TV mini-series "It."

Mugabe has single-handedly taken the "bread basket" of Africa and turned it into the "African ruins!" He has proven himself to be an evil, self-possessed man with nothing on his mind but his own grasp on power to the detriment of millions in Zimbabwe!

The fact that the SADC leaders are not saying anything forceful enough against Mugabe's regime, nor doing anything to prevent him from perpetrating his evil on his own people makes them just as guilty as he is!

John Piper says, "he who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it."

South Africa is Zimbabwe's immediate southern neighbour, and multiple thousands of Zimbabweans are escaping Zimbabwe into South Africa every month. Yet, Mbeki keeps on doing nothing concerning Mugabe's human rights violations. I keep wondering about this. Is South Africa indeed a "friend of torture?"

It seems to me that bravery and principle is something of the past! Is there NO African leader brave and principled enough to say, "Mugabe, enough is enough! It is NOW time for you to resign!"
