ASCR 72 - ESCR 0!

It is now ASCR 73 - ESCR 0!

In a contest that is no match at all, ASCR has beaten ESCR with great ease!

This contest that has lasted several years by now, has clearly shown that research for cures of all kinds of diseases using ESCR (Embryonic Stem Cell Research) has led to nothing, nada, zip!

On the other hand, research using ASCR (Adult Stem Cell Research), has led to 72 known cures 73 known cures.

Naturally, the driving forces behind ESCR, will not tell you that ASCR is winning this battle hands down. In fact, they will not tell you that they have nothing to show for their research!

Read this list of links to articles about known cures, achieved by ASCR.

Updates:

  • 5 April 2007 - British researchers have for the first time grown part of a human heart, using "adult" stem cells derived from bone marrow, British media reported this week.
  • April 2007 - DoNoHarm has updated their PDF document, 75 New Reasons, to 90 New Reasons to consider the alleged need for stem cell research that destroys human embryos.

We are all equal, some just MORE so!

In South Africa, affirmative action is entrenched in the minds of the ANC government. In their minds, and a host of other liberals who constantly bow before the ANC as if the ANC is 'god,' if a white person complains against affirmative action and its equally evil twin BEE (Black Economic Empowerment), they are either labelled as racist, or they are told to "get a life!"

Finance Minister Trevor Manuel, in the National Assembly, said that the "act is clear, the intent is clear. It isn't even optional, it is a constitutional imperative, so get a life. We will have to do it because that is what the constitution requires of us."

This is such a two-faced statement, and the load applause from the many ruling party MPs is just as bigoted, because the ANC has pushed through at least fourteen (14) constitutional changes since they took over power in 1994.

It is so amazing that the morally corrupt ANC hides behind the constitution every time someone disagrees with them; however, when they disagree with the constitution they amend it. The ANC's morality only goes as far as it benefits them!

It is astonishing that the ANC can think that creating one wrong can fix the sins of the past! One wrong cannot fix another wrong! Apartheid was a great sin that was perpetrated on non-whites in South Africa, but now to commit the same sin against whites is just as big a sin!

Excluding any person simply because of his skin colour is morally wrong. However, the ANC is acting like a bunch of spoilt brats with its "you did it to me first!" attitude.

Of course, what was the fight for civil rights has become the continued stand for black rights. Until 1994, the ruse was a fight for civil rights, but in fact it has always been to establish the superiority of blacks over other races, especially whites.

In fact, the fight was supposedly a colour-blind fight, to create equality for all in South Africa. This fight was to establish equality among equals. What does that mean? It means that when two people apply for a job, that both would be seen as equal when their expertise are the same in the same field. This is to say, it is equal opportunity. This does NOT mean that two persons of different colour should have the same opportunity simply because we do not see colour. Equal opportunity has nothing to do with colour. It has everything to do with equal expertise.

If it was simply a colour thing, then a black person should be considered for a position simply because he is black. The same goes for a white person. That means, a person would then be considered for a job simply because of his colour. So, a person will apply for a job, even if he does not have the necessary skills for that job, and should get the job because of his colour! As a result, Mr. X gets the job because he is green. Whether he has the skills for the job is of no consequence! Taken to the extreme, for the sake of argument, Mr. X is now a doctor even though he never studied to become a doctor, simply because he is green! This is what has been happening. To deny it is to lie with a straight face.

Ok, so the fact is that we are all equal. No one has more intrinsic value than another. We are all human beings that descended from the one human being: Adam!

However, non-whites (not just black people) were discriminated against, and even though many non-whites had the obvious talent, they were prevented from being educated and from employment equal to their talents.

Once the victory over apartheid came, equality was to come with it! Each person was then supposed to have equal opportunity, but the ANC redefined equal opportunity to mean something totally different. What happened is that equal opportunity in essence then simply meant that a black person should be chosen above a white person; in fact above any person of any other colour. From here there was an attack upon standards, since many were given jobs which they were not accustomed to and neither had the skills or education for. Why was this the case? Well, a disproportionate number of the previously disadvantaged people were excluded. So, instead of having a single colour-blind standard, which was inclusive of all people, there arose a demand for double standards which rewarded the previously disadvantaged based on these new lower expectations!

This means that individual rights were eliminated in favour of group rights. These group rights were taken further to even exclude ordinary people to rather favour and protect the elite! Most of the BEE occurring in South Africa fall in the hands of a select few big names of black business owners.

Instead of bringing an end to the previous government's skin game, the ANC government has chosen to perpetuate the game. People are still not regarded as individuals. We are still judged as members of our respective racial groupings and not as individual citizens of this country. Now, instead of discriminating against black people, there is still discrimination; just in favour of them.

As a result there is NO equality before the law. Of course, the ANC will claim that there is equality. Sure, blacks are just more equal!

Real equity will come into being when each individual citizen of this country has equal opportunity based on merits alone!

Skin has no merits!

Terrorists given a pat on the back!

In an article entitled SA's war veterans confront demons in the bush, Florence Panoussian describes the psychological work done with so-called war veterans from the apartheid era.

These war veterans are from the armed wings of the ANC, IFP and PAC.

By calling them SA's war veterans, Panoussian paints a picture of veterans representing the people of South Africa. But, far from it!

These men are not war veterans! They are terrorism veterans! These are men that planted bombs to blow up civilians! Those are not acts of war! They are acts of extreme cowardice that could only be perpetrated by terrorists. But, then again, calling them terrorists is not politically correct (PC)! That is why they are called war veterans! What a war! Blowing up innocent civilians!

Please don't tell me that it was collateral damage expected in a war! If it was a "war" singularly aimed at hitting military targets, I could accept it, since the previous government committed many atrocities that violated the freedoms and rights of many people. However, many of the targets were civilians! That is NOT collateral damage! That is chickenheartedness! Only a chicken with a yellow under-belly will target innocent civilians and call that bravery!

The ANC's yellow under-belly still shows today in that it still murders around 50,000+ innocent civilians every year and then calls it by its euphemism: abortion! I have also shown elsewhere how the ANC has no back bone to stand against atrocities committed in other countries! Just look how South Africa have soft-peddled on the gross human rights violations in Zimbabwe. The result is even more violations!

A spade is a spade and a terrorist is a terrorist. You can take an apple and call it an orange as many times as you want, it will not become an orange!

By calling a terrorist a "war veteran" we are simply spreading lies, and there will never be any truth or reconciliation. Reconciliation can only be accomplished when the full truth is applied. By using softening euphemisms we cannot get to the truth. By doing that, the horror experienced by the many victims of this mindless terrorism is denied, therefore showing great disrespect to those victims.

The fact is that these terrorists need to come to a point where they acknowledge the evil they committed, and they MUST acknowledge it as wrong and evil! By simply letting them deal with their "demons" in a psycho-babble session will not bring peace to their hearts. This will only make them feel that they are fine and that what they did was acceptable, while neither of these assessments would be true!

They need to be brought to the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ. It is only there that they can find forgiveness which will result in peace for their hearts. It is as they admit their heinous sins, and turn from those sins by actively acknowledging that those acts were evil before a holy God, and further believing in Jesus Christ as the One who died for the sins of sinners, that they will find the deliverance that only Jesus Christ can bring!

Government and governing ourselves

When we look at government and governing ourselves I am speaking of two different things.

In the current political environment in South Africa, government is equated with the current ruling party as government and governing ourselves is seen as the South African people's right to govern themselves without outside interference.

However, this is not exactly what I mean. When I use the word government I mean it in a more general sense of governing, not a body of people sitting at the head of a nation. Government, at least the way I am using it here contains the ability of a people to govern their affairs. When I use the phrase, governing ourselves, I am speaking on a more personal level in which we as individuals govern ourselves and keep ourselves in check!

This ability to govern ourselves on a personal level is called self-government. It is an internal government in which some type of worldview or philosophy of life guides us in how we handle the affairs of our own lives and also how we approach the events and laws of the environment we live in, be it our community or country or world.

External government is that government which is applied to our lives by others, such as the current ruling government and its laws.

The fact is that if we apply less self-government in our lives, we end up surrendering that sphere of government to another, which means more civil government. The less we govern ourselves, the more we need to be governed by an external power, which means less liberties. Hence, we will also experience less rights, since rights can only be acknowledged, not given.

As human beings, we cannot endow ourselves with rights, since we ourselves do not have the right to endow ourselves with rights. We can merely acknowledge those rights we already are endowed with. These rights can only be found within the boundaries of our liberties. What we are not at liberty to do or possess, we cannot bestow on ourselves, since liberties and rights can only be awarded by someone greater than ourselves, God. Governments all around the world can only acknowledge the rights and liberties that have already been bestowed on mankind by God, and cannot legitimise those rights by its own man-made constitutions and laws.

When governments take it upon themselves to bestow, rather than acknowledge rights and liberties, it will be quite evident that such governments would think of its citizens as servants of the state. However, the state exists to serve man, since man is superior to the state as an institution. In a country where a government does not believe this, the government will eventually put people's lives, liberties, rights and property in danger.

However, there needs to be a balance between internal and external government. Where too much external government is applied, there will also be too much unity which will lead to tyranny. Where there is too much individualism, internal government, it will lead to anarchy.

The fact that the people of South Africa have lost the capability to govern themselves internally has become the shame of this nation.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. (Pro 14:34)

The condition of our country certainly has become a shame to us. Virtue has become a cuss-word and deliberate perversion has become the order of the day. This has led to other evils such as escalation in rape, especially child rape, which has been fuelled by the legalization of pornography. Pornography is not a victimless crime. The fact is that after it was legalized in the USA rape rose by 139% while in Britain it rose by 94%. For what reason would we believe that it would be any different in South Africa? The connection between pornography and rape has been shown in study after study!

Another sin that is a reproach to the people is abortion. Since the legalization of abortion in 1997, close to 600,000 babies have been denied the right to life by a constitution that is anti-life!

Why would there be such an escalation of crime in this country if it weren't for the fact that its people have lost their moral compass! Many South Africans no longer have the inner character to govern themselves internally, and as a result each one is doing what is right in his own eyes!

When a government officially "removes" God from its constitution, one can only assume that it is the beginning of the end. Since Europe, in its European Constitution also denied the very God that established it and the people also did so in the preceding years, it has been overrun by hordes of Muslims, threatening the Islamization of Europe. In South Africa we are overrun with hordes of criminals.

When people deny God, its ruin will come swiftly.

May we in South Africa turn our eyes to the Lord Jesus Christ where our help comes from!

"(1) A Song of Ascents. To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens!(2) Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he has mercy upon us.(3) Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us, for we have had more than enough of contempt.(4) Our soul has had more than enough of the scorn of those who are at ease, of the contempt of the proud."
(Psa 123:1-4)

Sudan is the top human rights abuser

What we see in Darfur today is simply a relocation of human rights abuse that spanned the whole of Sudan just 10 years ago.

The Sudanese government allowed Islamic "fundamentalists to sell Christians into slavery, crucify them, and starve them to death. Once the two sides agreed to a truce brokered by former U.S. Sen. John Danforth, the persecution moved to the western province of Darfur."

Islamic nuclear weapons assistance from South Africa?

I watched Carte Blanche last night, which aired a segment called "Nuclear Jihad," a creation of CBC.

The program exposed A.Q. Khan, a Pakistani scientist, who sold nuclear secrets and components to a host of Islamic nations. It also showed how far his sales network reached, and also different countries involved in helping manufacture parts for nuclear weapons factories.

What concerns me is that it seems that South Africa was involved in this. Apparently some factory outside of Johannesburg helped manufacture parts for Khan's network!

I am sure that the South African public would like to know how involved the government was/is in this! It is common knowledge that the South African government is sympathetic towards Islamic nations; and, would it be surprising if the factory that manufactured these parts did so with the full knowledge of the SA government?

From this article it seems that the SA government could be innocent. Then, of course, in a court of law, innocence cannot be established, but only non-guilt, based on current verifiable information.

I can only surmise that the SA government knew of the factory. When "
police found the elements of a two-storey steel processing system for the enrichment plant in a factory outside Johannesburg," government officials said that only nuclear components were discovered. However, it seems "that the massive system was designed to operate 1000 centrifuges for enriching uranium."

If the SA government was so circumspect about what was said to the press, what did they have to hide?

Another reason why I think the SA government is not so innocent, is the fact that it is a staunch supporter of Iran's nuclear program. Iran is sitting with all kinds of nuclear "goodies" that they bought via A.Q. Khan, and I am convinced that these "goodies" are not for peaceful purposes. Sure, perhaps the added benefit will be nuclear reactors in order to provide enough power to provide electricity to Iran, but I am not convinced that that is the primary purpose of Iran's search for nuclear capabilities! The reason I do not think that Iran has a peaceful purpose in mind here is the fact that their "nutty" president, Ahmadinejad, publicly, for the whole world to see and hear, said that Israel must be wiped off the map! How else can this be done except with nuclear capabilities?

South Africa, it seems, is a certain threat in the new "nuclear age" started by A.Q. Khan. The South African government obviously would deny this, yet I think that the jury is already in!

Democracy a-la ANC

Democracy in South Africa is still to be instituted. It is but a dream of South Africans to experience true democracy.

The problem, however, is that South Africa has been a non-democratic society
since the National Party (NP) came to power in 1948 and ruled until April 1994. The NP became the NNP (New National Party) after losing control to the ANC. Subsequently, the NNP has become a distant memory on the South African political landscape. In fact, the NP/NNP lost its traction to such an extent, that it no longer has any presence on the internet apart from being mentioned on other pages as a party that no longer exists; and, it has been swallowed by the ANC. This non-democratic society even continues today under ANC (African National Congress) rule.

Just the way the ANC forced through some laws (legalizing pornography, abortion and same-sex "marriage"), even though the people overwhelmingly spoke against them, speaks volumes of the ANCs undemocratic nature.

The latest "democratic" offering of the ANC in the Johannesburg council is to limit parties' deliberations in council according to their representation in council.

This will severely limit the ability of smaller parties to have their say. A party, such as the ACDP (African Christian Democratic Party), will only get 4.14 seconds (maybe it is 4m14s) per deliberation, according to the information that I received.

Now, this will seem utterly absurd to any logical thinking person concerned about democracy
in this country! How can democracy be served when smaller parties, practically, are kept from giving their insight into the political process?

Since when does brilliance need a majority? Einstein needed no majority of minds to come up with the theory of relativity. If brilliance needed the majority of people to deliberate, what does that say about the ANC's ability to come up with a truly workable solution to fight crime?

The fact is that in democracy we all have an equal voice before the law. It is entrenched in the constitution.

The fact is that the ANC does not want ANY conflicting voices in the market place of ideas. They will give anyone a chance to speak, as long as the ideas presented are not dissenting ideas from the ANC party line. Hence, all other parties oppose them, and as a result, their chances of airing their voices must be severely limited! It seems like democracy does not even exist within the party!

My question to all is: When will people come to the realization that South Africa is NOT run according to democratic principles and the ANC is not an advocate of democracy?

The writer of Ecclesiastes in the Bible, wrote exactly what is present in South Africa to day:

Moreover, I saw under the sun that in the place of justice,
even there was wickedness,
and in the place of righteousness,
even there was wickedness.
(Ecc 3:16)

This is what South Africa has become. In the place of justice and righteousness there is wickedness!

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
(Proverbs 14:34)

Crime again?

STILL!!!!

As long as crime continues to the extent that it occurs in South Africa I will just have to keep writing about it.

In the last week or so, several cabinet ministers made comments about crime in this country, however, not one of them gets it! I am now really convinced that either these people are aliens from another planet*, or they simply do not get it! Perhaps they do not want to get it!

I have already written somewhat on the crime situation in South Africa. You can read it here, here, here, here, here, here and here.

If anyone has a right to complain about the crime in this country, it would be my family. Two of my nieces had their cars hijacked at gunpoint, one niece was raped, one cousin and one uncle murdered. Our house was burgled and our car stolen. Yet, still, the government continues with its denial of out-of-control crime!

Lately, the Defence Minister Mosiuoa Lekota entered the fray on the issue of crime. On day one of the debate on the State of the Nation address, he took DA leader Tony Leon and ACDP leader Kenneth Meshoe to task "for relying on letters from South Africans living abroad to highlight the crime problem."

Pardon me for saying so Minister Lekota, but certainly you cannot be that ignorant to think that these expats have nothing to say about crime in this country! The fact is that the majority of these expats have had it with the crime in this country and have gone looking for a better, safer life elsewhere! I am still in South Africa, and God forbid that I will pay with my life for staying here, yet I believe that I must become part of the solution to the rampant crime and immorality in this country stoked on by the very government that should be providing safety and direction in this country! As someone who has chosen to stay behind, I have just given a list of some of the crimes committed against my family! Would that suffice?

Why in the world do you, Minister Lekota, believe that the stories of expats are irrelevant to the situation of crime we face in this country? It seems to me that this ANC government loves using their selective memory and is doing so once again! If my memory serves me correct, in the apartheid years, many of the ANC comrades escaped this country. Did they have a voice concerning the injustices committed under the apartheid government? Remember, you need to be consistent now! Of course they had a voice outside of this country! Certainly, you do not believe that what they had to say was irrelevant?! Do you? Maybe the world press should not have relied on their stories since they were also expats.

The fact that people are willing to leave a country because of the crime speaks volumes! Why did they not just move elsewhere in the country? People are feeling hopeless, because this ANC government is heartless and does not care for its citizens! All this government can do is talk, talk, talk! Why in the world are they so insistent that crime is not so bad, when all it takes is half a brain to see that crime is out of control? Is something sinister going on which the government is trying to keep silent?

Lekota continued, "Why single out the voice of some wealthy individual who can afford to take the whole family, leave this country and go to Australia and highlight that in this house? The Honourable Meshoe invites into this house the comments of someone sitting in the exaggerated comfort of European cities, pointing a finger and saying how wrong the country is."

Isn't that interesting? Lekota simply has no idea how to fight crime in this country, so what does he do? He attacks those who live in comfort! As if it is not important if those in comfort have experienced crime! What does one's financial status have to do with the state of crime in this country? Crime remains crime, whether one is rich or poor! The fact is that this government cannot handle criticism. It is like a spoilt brat with an oversized ego who cannot handle rejection. On top of that, the only way this government can respond to criticism is fire salvos at the critics. No solutions!

It amazes me that every time that someone complains about crime in this country, the first thing our honourable ministers do is shoot back with questions such as, "Why are you not helping in fighting crime?" The fact is that this ANC government does NOTHING against crime and expects everybody else to do it for them! One of the main mandates of any government is to keep order and to keep its people safe. This government is failing miserably in its mandate, and as a result we should claim our tax money back!

So, BTW, if a criminal comes up to me with a handgun, what am I supposed to do as a citizen who practically does not have a right to carry a weapon? Stare the criminal onto his knees? Or, perhaps I must just wish him away? The ANC wants us to help fight crime, but they have pulled our teeth and as a result we have no bite! We cannot carry weapons, and we cannot get our communities closed up with access control added at specified entrances to our suburbs. Apparently wanting to close suburbs and adding access control is racism. Next time a white South African is shot to death we will drop the body off at the government's front door. The racism here is reversed. It is simply because we live in white suburbs (discounting the black home owners among us) that we are not allowed to close it up. THAT IS RACISM! Oh, yes! "Racism" is a non-word when it is perpetrated by a black person on a white person!

Lekota added. "When are we going to speak about the majority of black and white south Africans, farmers, who are sticking it out on their farms in the Free State, North West and Limpopo, who are working to contribute to the national effort to fight crime? Those are the people we should be speaking about and speaking to."

Well Minister Lekota, here I am. Speak about me and my family. Come speak to us! For obvious reasons I will not bet on that happening. EVER!

The fact is that it is all talk and no guts!

As an aside, yesterday, the Rigel Avenue off-ramp, which I must use everyday when coming from work, claimed another two victims, one of whom died, after armed perpetrators shot at them. This is the reality in South Africa, everyday!

*NOTE: I do NOT believe in aliens from other planets.
