Family Policy Institute misrepresents African Christian Democratic Party

The Family Policy Institute (FPI), in its July 18th reporting of the launch of the Christian Democratic Alliance, said that the "African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) opted out of the CDA choosing to remain in their multi-party governance arrangement with the Democratic Alliance (DA)."

In their reporting on the ACDP's so-called alliance with the DA, they used a bit of mix-n-matching with their reporting. After they made this categorical statement in their article, two paragraphs down they quote the president of the ACDP, Dr. Kenneth Meshoe as saying, "The agreement is a multi-party governance on a city basis only and will never be on a national basis." I call this maneuvering by the FPI as ducking-and-diving.

In my opinion they had absolutely NO need to make their initial statement. Dr. Meshoe clearly stated that there is no nationwide alliance with the DA, and that the alliance with them in Cape Town was limited to Cape Town alone.

The article by FPI shows absolutely no objectivity, as they are making a statement that was clearly debunked by the ACDP president. The facts, as alliances go, also speak volumes in this regard. Apart from Cape Town, the ACDP has no alliance with any other political party in the country.

The decision by the ACDP not to join the CDA has therefore nothing to do with its current city alliance with the DA and several other parties. That of course is never mentioned in the article by FPI.

In my opinion, the initial statement in the article by FPI, which is stated as fact, should never have been made.

Schwarzenegger signs bill authorizing killing of patients

'AB 2747 pushes suicide through the back door at the hands of non-physicians taking advantage of depressed patients,' he said in a statement. 'AB 2747 cheapens the value of human life by endorsing suicide as an option.'

"The measure allows physician assistants and nurses to decide whether a person is 'terminally ill' and deprive them of basic life-sustaining necessities such as food and water.

"'Depressed patients who succumb to this pressure will be drugged unconscious and die from dehydration, usually within five to 10 days,' Thomasson said. 'Nothing in the bill prohibits this horror.'"

Read more about this bill here, signed into California law by the alleged Republican governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Chuck Bldwin for U.S. president!

Chuck Baldwin will not take nonsense if he becomes president. Here are a couple of paragraphs:

"I want to return America to constitutional government. 'The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.' (Amendment X) I believe that, and will govern the Executive branch of the federal government accordingly.

"My sworn oath to the Tenth Amendment means I would dismantle the Patriot Act and restore law enforcement to the states and local governments, where it rightly belongs. Yes, this includes the so-called 'war on drugs' and the so-called 'war on terror.' No more warrantless searches and seizures. No more eavesdropping on Americans' phone calls, or collecting Americans' emails, or spying on American citizens without court order and oversight. No more stripping Americans of their constitutional rights in the name of 'national security.' In addition, I would use every power and authority vested to my office to preserve and protect the right of the people to keep and bear arms. And, yes, I will immediately restore Posse Comitatus. As President, I want to protect America from Washington, D.C., as much I want to protect it from foreign powers.

"I will also take the words of the Declaration of Independence seriously, where it states, 'That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States.' This means the day I am sworn in as President of the United States, the New World Order comes crashing down! The NAFTA superhighway is dead. The North American Union is dead. I will work to eliminate NAFTA, CAFTA, GATT, and the WTO. The FTAA is DOA. I will not expend tax dollars for the support of the United Nations."

Pastors perpetuate two-party myth in U.S. politics

I am involved in politics myself, so when I see pastors standing up for what is right from the pulpit, even to the point of assisting their members with who to vote for, then I am really happy.

For too long the church has been involved in every area of life, and speaking out in every area of life, but leaving the political realm alone as if it is infected with HIV/AIDS.

However, sometimes even pastors are a bit blinded by the political parties they have always supported.

Just recently, 33 pastors in 22 states in the U.S. made pointed recommendations about political candidates they supported. These pastors were organised by the Alliance Defence Fund from Arizona to do so.

In an article by the Christian Post concerning this effort, it became clear to me that this drive by the ADF and these pastors was more to support the Republican Party and decrying the Democratic Party.

To me, this whole move is a perpetuation of the two-party myth in American politics. For too long now, America has been divided according Republican/Democratic lines. And the voters, it seems, have been too comfortable in this divide to bother even finding out whether there are other p
arties on the U.S. political landscape.
This myth, in my opinion, have been driven by the mainstream media (MSM). Have there been any debates, in recent memory, to which any of the other party candidates have been invited to?

Other American political parties? Yes! If you could take a guess, how many political parties do you think there are in the U.S.? Many would say 2. Some may even say 5 or 6. Maybe 10, or even 20? You would still be wrong! There are at least 50 political parties in the U.S.! I bet you didn't know that!

Admittedly, most of these parties are cuckoo parties run by a bunch of crazies, but they are political parties nonetheless. The point here is, American politics does not consist of only two parties, Rep
ublican and Democratic!
The MSM and groups like the ADF, together with the pastors mentioned above, are doing the American public a great disservice by perpetuating the two-party myth. There are other parties and other candidates apart from McCain/Palin and Obama/Biden!

In my opinion, the Obama/Biden pairing is probabl
y the greatest and most unheralded disaster-in-waiting that the American public has ever faced. On the other hand, McCain is a neocon and is only slightly right of the Democrats. That is simply not good enough for the U.S. The only reason McCain might win in the coming elections is because of his running mate, Sarah Palin. Conservatives love her and it seems that she is also truly Christian and conservative.

In my opinion, a better bet would be Chuck Baldwin, from the Constitution Party. He is a Christian with true conservtive values, holding to a proper Biblical worldview, underscoring the constitutional base that the U.S. was founded upon.

I wonder if the pastors mentioned above aren't thinking like many here in South Africa. Their votes are not really based on principle, only on perceived principle. It is more a case of wanting a strong opposition. That means, they would leave space for all kinds of bad politics, just to have strong oppoition to a perceived threat. With that, all principles fly out of the window and they keep on voting for the status quo.

The Republican Party is no longer the party of yesteryear. It used to stand for true conservatism and small government. Now, it has become a behemoth wanting a government of control. In this regard it has become what it has fought for so long... the Democratic behemoth, that stands for big government and total control. To both these parties, the Constitution has become meaningless. Even the "conservative" president George W. Bush has run roughshod over the Constitution.

True change for America can only come if people are made aware of other parties, and the leaders of those parties could have a proper platform from which to declare their ideals. Then, men like Chuck Baldwin could have a chance of bringing change to the U.S.

Pastors, should especially make themselves aware of other options, apart from the status quo. They need to speak from a truly Biblical worldview, and make their people aware of better options.

America simply cannot heal while being run by either a Republican or a Democrat.

Economic freedom declines in the U.S.

In the annual compendium, Economic Freedom of the World, Canada's Fraser Institute shows that the United States has dropped in its economic freedom ranking from no. 2 to no. 8 between 2000 and 2008. The only countries that worsened more during the same period are Zimbabwe, Argentina, Niger, Venezuela, and Guyana.

Star Parker, from the Coalition on Urban Renewal and Education wrote:

"It stands to reason that if all it takes is a smooth talking politician to expropriate the property of individuals or businesses, that the ability and willingness to work, save, invest and do business will suffer. And that prosperity will decline.

"Barack Obama is running for president to save us from ourselves and give politicians even more sway over our private lives and property. He's telling us that it's 'Wall Street CEOs whose greed and irresponsibility got us into this mess.'

"But Obama sat by in silence as the Senate tried to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in 2005. And he's taken $126,349 in contributions from Fannie and Freddie, second highest in the Senate (only behind Banking Committee chairman Chris Dodd)."

Slavery: A modern problem

For many of us, when we hear the word "slavery" we immediately think of the slaves taken to the Americas and elsewhere.

Next, we think that slavery has been eradicated. You'd be WRONG in thinking that!

According to one estimate, there are currently 27 million slaves in the world. That is the greatest number of slaves in history at any given point in time.

In an article by Breakpoint Worldview Magazine:

"In his book, A Crime So Monstrous, Benjamin Skinner—whose interview with Zoe Sandvig appears in this month's issue of BreakPoint WorldView—reports that some government officials estimate that 'traffickers turn up to 17,500 humans into slaves on American soil every year. Put another way, assuming you read at an average speed,' Skinner writes, 'by the time you finish this chapter, another person will have entered bondage in the United States.'

"That means that, annually, traffickers bring more slaves into the United States than 17th-century slave traders transported to pre-revolutionary America.

"While slave-holding of Africans in the United States has ended, today's traffickers import thousands of women into the United States with a specific career in mind: prostitution. In fact, some studies report that, of 131 cases of slavery, nearly half of the slaves languish in underground brothels, illicit massage parlors, and other tightly controlled street operations."

Obama's police-state tactics

Barack ObamaIt seems like Obama does not like others revealing to the world what he really stands for and what he proposes for the U.S. when he becomes president.

Missouri's governor, Matt Blunt had this to say concerning Obama's campaign methods:
Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt

"What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment...

"This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson... I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson's thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election."

Brad Pitt: Homosexual activist

In a story at LifeSiteNews, it has been revealed that Brad Pitt is behind getting homosexual 'marriage' legalised in the U.S.

"Brad Pitt, an actor who for many epitomizes the lack of commitment to marriage, has once again taken a shot at marriage as the union of one man and one woman with a major donation to homosexual 'marriage' activists. Pitt announced yesterday that he is donating $100,000 to fight California's Proposition 8, a measure on the November ballot that would enable California voters to retain the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

"Pitt has a history of promoting homosexual activism since breaking up with former wife Jennifer Aniston in 2005 after five years of marriage. His trysts with actress Angelina Jolie were reported prior to his divorce from Aniston. In 2006, while living with Jolie he announced that they would not marry until homosexual 'marriage' was permitted in the United States. In an Esquire article in October 2006 Pitt wrote, 'Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able.'"

Democrats and the Bible

Ann Coulter, shows how, when liberalism (Like the U.S. Democrats) claims to be like Jesus, they come apart at the seams.

Coulter writes:

"It's another election season, so that means it's time for Democrats to start uttering wild malapropisms about the Bible to pretend they believe in God!

"In 2000, we had Al Gore inverting a Christian parable into something nearly satanic. Defending his nutty ideas about the Earth during one of the debates, Gore said: 'In my faith tradition, it's written in the book of Matthew, where your heart is, there is your treasure also.' And that, he said, is why we should treasure the environment.

"First of all, people who say 'faith tradition' instead of 'religion' are always phony-baloney, 'Christmas and Easter'-type believers."

Little known facts about Chuck Norris and Sarah Palin

After the success and entertainment brought by the Chuck Norris Facts website, a similar website has come into existence for Sarah Palin called, Sarah Palin Facts.

BTW,it seems like Chuck Norris has decided to side with the McCain/Palin ticket:

"I'll be honest with you. I'd been giving consideration to third-party candidates. As a conservative with a renewed pledge to bear the legacy of America's Founders, I wasn't going to simply concede to the McCain ticket unless he made a credible (and what might be viewed as a radical) choice for vice president.

McCain is a good man, solid in character, and fully capable to lead our country into the future. But America also needs a fresh, reputable outsider who isn't afraid to confront Washington corruption, government gridlock or partisan paralysis. When I heard Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was McCain's choice, I knew she was a woman whom Americans could support and trust. Sarah is tough, smart, competent, credible and confident enough to fight those even in her own party. I believe she even will help to keep McCain accountable and in check."

Even though Palin will make a very good conservative VP for the U.S., I personally do not think at this time that McCain can make much of a difference in Washington, and would rather go with the Baldwin ticket for the Constitution Party.

I thought I'd add my own Sarah Palin Fact:
"Sarah Palin now has so much conservative influence that even Oprah Winfrey is scared of her." Oh, sorry. That actually is not a joke, it is true!

Mandela not an iconic hero!

I have long been saying that Nelson Mandela is not the angel and iconic hero that the world makes him out to be.

Some time ago I wrote:

"Let's look at Nelson Mandela. Madiba is revered by people across the world. He is hailed as the messiah of the black people who struggled for their freedom. He certainly has done a lot of things for South Africa and indeed for many other peoples too. He established the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund that helps with poor and orphaned children. He helped establish some kind of peace in this country. Surely, at his command the black populace could have stood up and taken South Africa by force, but he chose to do it the 'democratic' way through an election. Surely, this makes for a great man! However, it was while he was at the helm of this nation that pornography was legalized. It was under his presidency that abortion was also legalized. In the first 6 years since it became legal, 360,000 babies have been murdered by sanction of the 'law.' Thousands of violent criminals have been released under his command, because it was his birthday, some of whom committed violent crimes within days of release. It was under his rule that murders rose from somewhere in the 7000s per year to over 20,000 per year with a high of 25,000 per year around 1996. Does this, now, look like greatness? You will have to decide!"

Sarah Maid of Albion from the U.K. also wrote about the fabled Mandela in 2 posts:
Mandela: The legend and the Legacy. Part 1
Mandela: The legend and the Legacy. Part 2

Here is an excerpt from Part 1:
"No doubt the beaming old man will appear on stage in one of his trademark multi-coloured shirts and cheerily acknowledge the cheers of the adoring crowd, most of whom have been taught to believe in his sainthood since their first days in primary school, which, for many of them, will have occurred around the same time their hero walked free from Robben Island.

"The unquestioning belief in Mandela's universally admired saintliness will again be displayed in the press and by the unending line of politicians and dignitaries who will queue up to genuflect before him and sing his praises. It is a brave politician or journalist who would dare to question the godliness of this legend and consummate showman, and hence no such questions will be raised, nor will his much vaunted “achievements” be subjected to any objective scrutiny.

"No matter how many speeches are given or how many news articles are written, it is safe to bet that the full truth about Mandela will not be told.

"In fact the truth about Mandela is so hidden in mythology and misinformation that most know nothing about him prior to Robben island, and those who do tend to exercise a form of self censorship, designed to bolster the myth whilst consigning uncomfortable facts into the mists of history."
