If Mandela was to be released today?

If he was to be released today, I'm sure that even the so-called saintly Mandela would have thought twice about the situation in the ANC and the ANC-led South African government! When my son was about 8, one night as I put him to bed he said: "Dad, do you know what ANC stands for?" As I wanted to tell him, he said: "African Non-Christians!" Out of the mouths of babes...

"Don't criticize me, I am the Prez!" says Zuma

Zuma acts like the devil!Yesterday I wrote about the despicable behaviour of the un-president, Jacob Zuma, in my post, "With all due disrespect Mr. Zuma, you are not worthy to be president!". As a result of the controversy stirred up by Zuma's actions, the newspapers have jumped on this issue. But Zuma, again making claims of cultural beliefs involved in his philandering, immoral lifestyle said that he has made the relevant cultural reparations to the family of the woman that he had illicit sex with that produced a child. So, what he is saying is have sex, make reparations; have sex, make reparations; hav... Mr. Zuma... No! No Mr...! If you have respect for someone you use the title Mr.! Mr. Zuma, has no moral fibre; in fact, morality is null and void in his mind, is it not?

On this matter Zuma, in a media statement from his office, said:

"I have done the necessary cultural imperatives in a situation of this nature, for example the formal acknowledgement of paternity and responsibility, including the payment of inhlawulo to the family. The matter is now between the two of us, and culturally, between the Zuma and Khoza families."

When will publicly elected officials such as presidents realize that while they are in their elected term of service, they do not have privacy like other citizens. The president is not just an individual that happens to be elected as president. When the president is sworn in, he promises to devote himself "to the well-being of the republic and all of its people." Jacob Zuma, as the elected president of South Africa represents South Africa and its people, and not the ANC or Zulu culture. During his time in his service to this country as president he must behave and conduct himself in all things--including his so-called private life--in such a way to promote the best image of South Africa to the world. After he finishes his service to South Africa he can do what he wants, but while he serves as president, and being paid by the people of this country, he needs to conduct himself without any serious misconduct for which he may be removed from his office as president. As president, Jacob Zuma must promote "the unity of the nation and that which will advance the Republic." By living as if his private life and presidential life are separate, and through his repeated sexual misconduct he is definitely NOT promoting "the unity of the nation and that which will advance the Republic." This matter is not just between the Zuma and Khoza families, this matter is between Zuma and the people that he represents, whose name he is continually dragging through the mud! BTW, Zuma said that he made the necessary reparations to the family according to his culture, but why does he not just keep his pants on? Then no reparations would be necessary!

The media statement continues:

"It is unfortunate that the individuals concerned have been unfairly subjected to harsh media exposure merely because of the position that I occupy. Our Constitution and our laws require us to protect children from harmful public exposure. The Constitution states that it is inappropriate to place at risk, the child’s well-being, physical or mental health, spiritual, moral or social development."

What?! Zuma wants to blame the media for the exposure that Sonono Khoza and the baby are getting? That is truly disingenuous! It seems like Zuma's hamster has vacated its offices. Did Zuma really think that he could do anything without the media scrutinizing those actions? It may be great to be president in South Africa, thinking that people should treat you like a Zulu king, but no, there is a dark side that comes with being president. RESPONSIBILITY! Zuma planted the seed--pun intended--and now he must watch it grow, with everything that goes with being president. Just because Zuma is a Zulu does not mean he will get a "Skip Media Scrutiny" card in his little monopoly game. Again Zuma calls upon the constitution to shift blame away from his own actions. By claiming, according to the constitution, that it "is inappropriate to place at risk, the child’s well-being, physical or mental health, spiritual, moral or social development," he tries to use a baby's so-called well-being to move scrutinizing eyes away from himself. Typical of a coward's actions! How the media's scrutiny of his actions and making known who the baby's mother is can harm the child, only he will know. In fact, the child does not even know what is going on.

What is quite laughable is that Zuma claims that all this attention places the child's moral development at risk. What in the world would Jacob Zuma know about moral development? He has the moral acuity of a coral reef!

Zuma continues:

"Both the Child Care Act and the new Children’s Act also provides for the protection of children from exploitation. The naming of the child’s parents has essentially exposed her to the public, which has serious implications in the long-term for her, and amounts to the exploitation referred to in the Act, because the media is making money out of the matter."

I must say, the poor child has been exploited so much! Wait a sec! No-one has even seen the child yet, so how could the child be exploited! No-one has even seen the child, but the child's parents have been named, how does that have long term implications for the child? Oh yes, the life-long implications for the poor child is that she has to be reminded every day for the rest of her life that her father is a philandering, immoral charlatan! These children were at risk, not Zuma's baby! The fact is that Zuma's child would always have been exposed to the public, being a child fathered by the president, morally or immorally! There is nothing out of the ordinary. If Zuma had a child with one of the women in his harem, it still would have made the news. The only difference is that in this case the parents had illicit sex and the child is unfortunate to be born under such circumstances. The newsworthiness of the situation has nothing to do with the fact that the newspapers have scrutinized Zuma's immoral actions, but with Zuma's immoral actions and lifestyle!

In the media statement Zuma also says:

"The media is also in essence questioning the right of the child to exist and fundamentally, her right to life. It is unfortunate that the matter has been handled in this way. I sincerely hope that the media will protect the rights of children."

I would like to know what kind of mental gymnastics Zuma and his ill-advisors went through to claim that the media in essence is "questioning the right of the child to exist and fundamentally, her right to life?" By highlighting the destructive sexual behaviour of Zuma in no way questions the right to existence of the baby that was born as a result of that immoral behaviour! Through all of this ducking and diving, Zuma simply will not take responsibility for the way that he lives. It is always someone else's fault. This has been Zuma's and the ANC's tactics from the beginning. Blame someone else, anyone else. Zuma certainly has a distorted view of the world, hoping that the "media will protect the rights of children." Children have the right to grow up in stable homes with parents that live moral lives from which they can learn. However, this is not what Zuma is going to give this child. This child will grow up knowing that her father loves other women too, and not just those he speciously claims as his wives. This clearly puts this child at risk in terms of her "mental health, spiritual, moral [and] social development!"

What Jacob Zuma needs is the good news of peace with God!

As it is said,
Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.
Hebrews 3:15

With all due disrespect Mr. Zuma, you are not worthy to be president!

Jacob Zuma, President of South Africa has now shown conclusively that he is not worth being called president, even if the ANC received 60+% of the vote in South Africa's last election in 2009. From being a terrorist liberation organization to one that fronts despicable, corrupt and immoral men as its own and South Africa's leader, it seems to me that the ANC and Zuma are simply par for the course! The ANC does as the ANC does! Nothing has changed since pre-1994! A leopard can't change its spots!

It has come to light that South Africa's despised revered president has fathered an illegitimate child with a friend's adult daughter. This is his twentieth child! This is the same man who slept with a girl a couple of years ago while corruption charges against him were still being investigated.

What was Zuma thinking? Was he thinking? Zuma is already a polygamist according to his Zulu culture. If he hadn't divorced one and another died, he would've had five wives. As a man with three wives, he still goes around having sex with other women. Polygamy is simply a way of cheating on your wife. Zuma is very clearly hiding behind the it's-my-culture claim to legitimize his polygamy and philandering! This man cannot keep his zip up! His immorality is astounding. His corruption unequaled! To what lengths will this man go to drag the name of South Africa through the mud? At least Bill Clinton tried to hide what he had done with that woman, Monica Lewinsky! Not our Jacob Zuma! His motto is: "I can, so I will!" And so he did! And he flaunts it too! "Look dudes! Three wives and a bunch of chicks! I think I've worn out my zipper!"

That is NOT the kind of president we want to represent US before the world! Mr. President, you are a scumbag! Oh, yes, you do not even use condoms! Is that below your status as a Zulu man? This man does not engender pride in the hearts of thinking South Africans. He brings feelings of shame, disgust and horror that such a person could be our president. Respect! No, Mr. President, respect is earned and you have squandered that opportunity! Disrespect is what you have earned, and heaps of it! Zuma had the opportunity to prove everybody wrong about him after he became president. Yet, through his own actions he has proven us all right. He should not have been the president.

"(2) When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan...
(4) By justice a king builds up the land, but he who exacts gifts tears it down...
(27) An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, but one whose way is straight is an abomination to the wicked.
"
(Proverbs 29: 2, 4, 27 ESV)

The response by the ANC is also simply par for the course. ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu said:

"Why should a relationship between two adults be made an issue?... Why should it make headlines? Why is it characterised by some media as a 'shame to the nation'?... There is nothing wrong that the president has done. There is nothing 'shameful' when two adults have a relationship... By being involved with any other person, President Zuma is not guilty of any offence and he has not breached our constitution or any of our laws."

The fact is that this relationship is not just between any adults, it is between the president of our nation and some woman! What the president does has an impact on the people of this nation and on the world's perception of this nation! When the president does not bother to live an upstanding, moral life, why should anyone else in the nation care to do so? It is exactly because of this that the HIV infection rate in South Africa is the highest in the world and that South Africa also has the highest per capita occurrence of rape in the world! We can conclusively say that South Africa is one of the most immoral nations in the world! That, Mr. President, is SHAMEFUL, and you are at the forefront of that drive to deeper depths of immoral behaviour! May God have mercy on your soul and that of the people of this once great nation!

Every time someone dear to the ANC is caught in some expression of a severe character flaw, they claim that that person "has not breached our constitution or any of our laws," as Jackson Mthembu claimed for the anti-president, Jacob Zuma. The ANC has no sense of morality, especially not a Biblical, eternal morality as defined by God. They have a very convenient morality. A morality based on whatever is expedient for the moment.

ACDP president, Rev. Kenneth Meshoe said in a media release from his office:

"We find this unacceptable for a head of State not to take morality seriously and set a bad example, particularly for young men in the country. South Africa needs leaders who are morally upright and accountable... We believe President Zuma needs counseling and sex addiction therapy, as was recommended for Tiger Woods who has a similar problem of sleeping around."

Although I agree with Kenneth Meshoe's sentiments, I think he has it wrong. "Sex addiction" is not a psychological problem, it is a moral problem. It is a sin problem. The remedy for Zuma's sex-lust is not psycho-babble-therapy, but surrendering to Christ and repentance from his life of abject immorality. Zuma will not find help in "sex addiction" therapy--modern western culture--nor will he find it in Zulu culture. It is only in Jesus Christ that he can find refuge! May God's kindness lead Jacob Zuma to repentance! (Rom 2:4) It is as John Scott wrote, sex addiction therapy is usually "only for people whose wives (like Mrs Tiger Woods) regard their husbands' promiscuity as wrong. Mrs Zuma and Mrs Zuma and Mrs Zuma obviously don't mind, and Mr Zuma doesn't mind either, thank you very much." Is this also part of Zulu culture, or is this attitude from the Zuma wives simply due to the expediency of being set for life without having to work! Morality! Obviously not required!

I agree with the Reverend Theunis Botha, leader of the Christian Democratic Party, a member of the CDA who called for Zuma to resign for the good of the country.

Zuma has shown himself as irresponsible in his actions as it undermines the so-called African Renaissance which supposedly was to bring a higher moral standard to South Africa. Of course, this Renaissance has a "DNS"--Did Not Start--next to its name in the race of life, and Zuma and the ANC's attitude to issues such as these are making sure that this drunken lust will bring great ruin upon South Africa.

Abortion is MURDER! Marches and Lifechains against abortion

Aborted babyThis coming weekend and beyond, people from across South Africa will be marching or standing against abortion. Abortion was legalized in South Africa on 1 February 1996, and since then more than 700,000 babies have been brutally murdered through no choice of their own. It does not matter which way you slice it, abortion is MURDER and it is committed by cowards!

Several organizations will be hosting marches or lifechains this weekend (30 Jan 2010). They are CFT, ACA and BCN. If you are in the region of one of these vents, please join in and stand against this culture of murder death!

Dr. Peter Hammond from ACA sent the following alert out concerning some of these events. Thanks to them for having this all in one place for quick reference!

NATIONWIDE PRO-LIFE OUTREACHES THIS WEEKEND, MONDAY 1 FEB AND NEXT WEEKEND - SEE BELOW

ABORTION IS MURDER

They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons, and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrifice to the idols of Canaan; and the land was polluted with blood.
Therefore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against His people, so that He abhorred His own inheritance. And He gave them into the hands of the gentiles, and those who hated them ruled over them. Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

Psalm 106:37-42

The pagan religions practiced child sacrifice. One of the many pagan gods, Baal, was worshipped as the key to fertility and prosperity. To entice Baal to bless their land, mothers were required to present her firstborn child to the priest. Baal was represented by a huge stone, or brass, statue carved in the image of a bull’s head and the upper body of a man. The arms were extended to receive babies and fire belched from a hollow area in the chest.

As the priests of Baal carried each baby up the stairs and laid the victim in the arms of the horned idol of Baal, the baby was consumed in the flames. This was the religion of Baal and of those who worshipped Asherah. The Ammonites who worshipped Molech and the Phoenicians who worshiped Kronos also practiced child sacrifice. These pagan religions required the parents to have their children pass through the fire as a sacrifice to their demon gods.

The true people of God have always found themselves fighting against religions that want to sacrifice the most innocent blood of all. The Lord commanded, in Deuteronomy 18:10, that when you come into the land of the heathen, you are not to sacrifice your children. We read in Proverbs 6:17 that the Lord hates those who shed innocent blood.

In Exodus 1:16 we read that Pharaoh commanded the midwives to kill every male boy that was born to the Hebrews in Egypt. The pharaohs of today still want to kill babies.

In the New Testament the Gospel begins in Matthew 2:16 with King Herod ordering his soldiers to go to Bethlehem and kill all the male children up to age two.

We read in Numbers 35:33 that the land comes under a curse when innocent blood is shed. “Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, accept the blood by the one who shed it.” Numbers 35:33

The contest between Pharaoh and Moses in Exodus was primarily a clash between the death-obsessed, child killing, mystical humanism of Egypt and the way of life in serving Jehovah, the God of Israel. The climactic battle on Mount Carmel between Elijah and the prophets of Baal was a battle against a religion centred on child sacrifice (1 Kings 18).

Carol Everett was involved in the abortion industry. Not only did she perform abortions, but she also had an abortion. When asked: “What is the governing force behind the abortion industry?” Carol answered: “Money. It is a very lucrative business. It is the largest unregulated industry… most of the clinics are run in chains because it is so profitable.

Carol explained: “Every woman has two questions, ‘is it a baby?’ and ‘does it hurt?’ The abortionist must answer ‘No.’ He/she must try to secure the consent of the woman in the collection of the clinic’s fee. The women are told that they were dealing with a product of conception or a glob of tissue. They were told that there would be only slight cramping, whereas, in reality, an abortion is excruciatingly painful.

When asked what type of counselling was offered at the clinic?, Carol Everett answered: “We didn’t do any real counselling. We sold abortion.” In answer to how they disposed of the aborted babies, Carol explained: “We put them down the garbage disposal.

A former abortion counselor, Debra Henry admitted: “We were told to find the woman’s weakness and work on it. The women were never given any alternatives. They were told how much trouble it was to have a baby.

Former abortion counselor, Nita Whitten admitted: “It’s a lie when they tell you they are doing it to help women, because they are not. They are doing it for the money.

Former abortion counselor, Kathy Sparks, said: “The counselor at our clinic would cry with the girls at the drop of a pin. She would find out what was driving them to want to abort the child and she would magnify it.

Former abortionist, David Brewer, M.D., admitted: “My heart got calloused against the fact that I was murderer, but the baby lying in a cold bowl educated me to what abortion really was.

Former abortionist, Antony Levatino, M.D., said: “I want the general public to know that the doctors know that this is a person, this is a baby. That this is not some kind of glob of tissue…

Former abortionist, Joseph Randall, M.D., said: “The picture of the baby on the ultrasound bothered me more than anything else. The staff couldn’t take it. Women who were having abortions were never allowed to see their ultrasounds.

Former abortionist, MacArthur Hill, M.D., confessed: “I am a murderer. I have taken the lives of innocent babies and I have ripped them from their mothers wombs with a powerful vacuum machine.

Former abortionist, Bernard N. Nathanson, M.D., was once a pioneer and leader in the abortion industry. He led the campaign for the legalisation of abortion in America and admitted that he and other abortion advocates blatantly lied to congress in order to get abortion legal. Dr. Nathanson presided over 60,000 abortions before being converted. Not only did Dr. Nathanson leave the abortion industry, but he has since been dedicated to fighting against abortion. Dr. Nathanson admits that abortion is murder. He has produced such documentaries as TheSilent Scream, and written the book: The Hand of God – a journey from death to life by the abortion doctor who changed his mind.

In the Old Testament, the same Hebrew word is used to describe pre-born babies and children.  In the New Testament, the same Greek that is used to describe babies or children, is used for John the Baptist while he was still in his mothers womb (Luke 1:41-44; 2:12, 16; 18:15-17).

When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leapt in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.   In a loud voice she exclaimed: ‘blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!  But why am I so favoured, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leapt with joy.’” Luke 1:41-44

God has called some people to His service from the womb:

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

…it pleased God, who separated me from my mothers womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles…” Galatians 1:15-16

The Lord called me from the womb; from the body of my mother He made me…the Lord, who formed me from the womb to be His servant.” Isaiah 49:1, 5

For You created my most innermost being; You knit me together in my mothers womb.  I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place.  When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body.  All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:13-16

Life belongs to God.  “In Him we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28

The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of Heaven and Earth.  He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.” Acts 17:24-25

The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it.” Psalm 24:1

Know that the Lord is God.  It is He who has made us, we are His.” Psalm 100:3

This is what the Lord says – your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord who has made all things.” Isaiah 44:24

God created man in His image and commanded mankind to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:26-28). The sanctity of life is declared (Genesis 9:6). The conception of children is seen as a gift from God (Genesis 21:1-2; 25:21).

Children should not die for the sins of the parents  (Deuteronomy 24:16). Since all life was created by God and belongs to Him, no one has the right to murder. “You shall not murder.” Exodus 20:13

The case laws of Exodus actually deal with protection of pre-born babies: “If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely, but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and the court allows. But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life…” Exodus 21:22-24

The Bible asks the question: “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne?  Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” Isaiah 49:15

It seems incredible that any mother could forget her baby, but this is evidently not just a hypothetical question.  Many millions of mothers do seem to have forgotten their babies enough to have scheduled an appointment to have them killed.

God is concerned for the weak and helpless. The Bible teaches us that we need to defend them.  “Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.  Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 82:3-4

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves… speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Proverbs 31:8-9

Jesus said: “Whoever welcomes a little child like this in My Name welcomes Me.” Matthew 18:5

See that you do not look down on one of these little ones.  For I tell you that their angels in Heaven always see the face of My Father in Heaven.” Matthew 18:10

Your Father in Heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.” Matthew 18:14

Children are a blessing from the Lord “Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him.  Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.  They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in their gate.” Psalm 127:3-5

God is the Creator. Pre-born babies are persons. Life is precious. Murder is to be severely punished.  Abortion is a modern equivalent of child sacrifice. Just as God’s people opposed Pharaoh’s decree to murder newborn babies in Egypt (Exodus 1:15-22), so we need to protect pre-born babies from abortion today. Just as King Herod sought to kill the babies in Bethlehem (Matthew 2:16), so abortionists are tempting to butcher babies today.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” Proverbs 31:8

Every year over 80,000 babies are killed through abortion in South Africa. It is not only those directly involved in these crimes of murder that are guilty of violating the 6th Commandment. All those politicians who worked for, and voted for, legalised abortion in this country share the guilt.

Also guilty of being accessories before, during, and after, the fact are the journalists who promoted abortion, and cover up the facts in order to ensure that the holocaust against the unborn continues.  Those pastors who fail to faithfully expound the Scriptures on when life begins, and what a Christian’s responsibility is, to speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves, are also accessories to murder.  And of course, all those voters who continue to vote for pro-abortion parties have also violated the 6th Commandment and are accessories to murder.

Life begins at conception. Abortion is murder. It is our Christian duty to speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves. To rescue the perishing. To hold back those staggering towards slaughter.

South African Education Desperately Needs Your Help!

I received the latest Take Action Alert by email from the Family Policy Institute's Errol Naidoo. Unfortunately it is not on their website yet, so I am going to take the liberty to post the whole email here.

Last year I noticed a profound change in attitude by the Zuma administration. The shift in the way policy is formulated falls in line with what God is revealing to many Christians around the country.

The Body of Christ will be presented with unprecedented opportunities in 2010 to influence the nation’s public policy development. However, we must not miss these God-given opportunities.

One of the more encouraging statements to emanate from Government last year, came from Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, who admitted that Outcome Based Education (OBE) had failed the nation’s education objectives and that a policy re-evaluation was necessary.

As a result, Parliament has issued the following statement requesting written submissions from South African citizens on the critically important aspects of basic education.

Christian citizens, especially those involved in education have a responsibility to speak into the area of education & provide God-inspired solutions to the many challenges facing our nation.

Most Christians I speak to are concerned about the alarming decline in Christian values in the schooling system, including its tragic consequences. This is your chance to be part of the solution!

Please make your voice heard on this vital issue. The quality of education has the potential to either make or break this nation. Your input is critical because it contains Godly wisdom.

Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Basic Education is shifting its focus towards the delivery of and challenges facing quality education in South Africa. This after the Committee noted areas of concern, particularly with regard to equal access to quality education by all categories of learners and questionable levels of learning outcomes.

The Committee is now calling for written submissions on aspects affecting quality outcomes in primary and high schools. Those aspects include the following:
  • Curriculum content
  • Teacher development
  • Class size
  • Managerial capacity at schools
  • Orientating schools towards specialisation
  • Values in education.
Submissions are also invited on the issue of access to education. This pertains to such issues as geographic location of schools and infrastructure; language barriers; homeless children/orphans; children in trouble with the law and education in prisons and inclusive education.

Through these submissions, the Committee aims to obtain first-hand information on the pressure points and to find mutual solutions that would make positive contribution towards improving areas of concern within the basic education system.

All stakeholders and teachers in particular are urged to contribute and send their submissions by 28 February 2010.

Pie pricing: getting to the bottom of things

Today, I picked up my son and daughter from school. "Dad, I am hungry!"  said one of them. We popped into the local Pick 'n Pay store and headed over to the pies. While we were waiting for one of the helpers to bag the pies, my son noticed the pricing sign below.

I know, I know! Think on things above and all that, but this was just too funny to pass up!

"Are they really…? No, can't be!"

You laughed, didn't you?

Law enforcement and justice in South Africa continue to falter

What is it with South African law enforcement and justice, that they so much want to emulate the same in Zimbabwe?

I read a blog post about continued "jail raping" of white "offenders" that are thrown in holding cells together with hardened black criminals who then gang rape these white "offenders." It is absolutely sickening to see what is happening and how our own law enforcement people (aka police) could become such vile criminals themselves to allow this to continue in police holding cells.

Next, I read a news article at Independent-Online of a woman who thought that she could be hijacked, who ended up being beaten by a traffic officer in front of the police at a local police station! The sad thing is that this is not an isolated case. The problem with this scenario in South Africa is that many in the police see their job as a way to collect a salary. It is just another job! They don't have any honour in the execution of their duties! The problem with these thugs is that they think they are the law instead of upholding the law and protecting the citizens of this country.

Does the South African government know about these offenses happening under their noses? Or, should I rather ask, do they care? When considering the government's track record in fighting crime since the ANC took over in 1994, the answer is undoubtedly "NO!"

These thugs that are supposedly our police force, should be fired, and should be charged against every possible law that they broke during these events, from gross human rights violations to physical assault. But, will that happen? Dream on!

This government and their paid thugs are sowing to their own reward, and they WILL reap what they have sown! The question is, will they realize this before it is too late and standing before the Great Judge of heaven, Jesus Christ?

Being ridiculous about 2010 Soccer World Cup

This is probably the most stupid, ridiculous, pathetic thing I've seen. I hate crime in South Africa just like anyone living in South Africa, unlike the ANC and its leaders in government!

And don't think I do not hate crime. Here's my list:

  • 2 Nieces' cars stolen from them at gun point in 2 separate instances.
  • 1 Niece raped by a thug.
  • 1 Uncle murdered in his home.
  • 1 Cousin murdered.
  • 1 Car stolen from our home.
  • 1 Break-in into our house and goods stolen.

Believe me, I hate crime with a passion, but to try to get people to buy kevlar vests when coming to watch the 2010 soccer, is simply ridiculous and it is making South Africa look like a war zone! Millions of South Africans drive to work and back in peace with no incidents whatsoever, apart from the many morons driving on our roads!

Skype and other phones

Is there anyone here that uses Skype?

I think I have used Skype for real calls as much as 5 times in the past 5 years. All business calls. To me it is just another phone, and I hate phones. I use a phone only if I really have to. I certainly do not use it as a socializing device. I find it very restrictive and it puts me at the mercy of the one that called me. That is why I have instituted a call-answering policy (CAP).

cellphone When using a cell phone, the number of the one that calls me is usually displayed on my phone. If your phone is set not to send that information through with your call, it displays as "Private" when that call gets through to me. Some phones display "Unknown" or "Withheld" and some display "Private." My CAP is that if a call comes through to my phone with the originating number withheld, I simply do not answer that call. So, as soon as a call comes through to my cell that displays "Private" I shut it down. The reason I do this is that at some point I started getting many spam calls, so-called marketing calls. I got tired of having to interrupt these people within the first 10 seconds and asking: "Are you trying to sell me something?" "Umm, yes?" "I am really not interested. Have a good day! Goodbye!" This became the norm for several months. So I simply stopped answering calls made from phones that do not send the originating number through. I could set my previous phone not to answer calls like this. It was great. My current phone cannot do it. Pity!

I read Joel Stein's piece in the Time magazine (January 18, 2010) today called "Call Me! But Not on Skype or Any Other Videophone."

Talking about video calls, Stein writes: "In fact, even though Skype is the only one of all the cool gadgets that cartoons promised me would exist by 2010, people don't seem nearly as excited as they should be. Only 34% of Skype calls even use video. And when Skype announced on Jan. 5 at the Consumer Electronics Show that we'll soon have videophones on our televisions, everyone went right back to talking about which booths gave out the best key-chain lights."

I remember when Skype first became the hype, I was very excited. It seemed like the answer to Telkom and cell phone hell here in South Africa. Making calls in South Africa are expensive, so Skype became a delight. However, the reality of it became apparent very quickly as we started running out of bandwidth using Skype over the internet. In South Africa we pay dearly for the internet bandwidth we use. Expensive is actually just a euphemism for we pay for our bandwidth in this country! So, beware internet prices when you come to South Africa for the 2010 soccer world cup! In the end, we do pay for that Skype call via our expensive internet rates. So, while Skype is the only gadget that lived up to the promise of the cartoons, I am certainly not excited about it at all!

I find Stein's article very funny, but also very true! He really nails it on the head for me.

ANCYL wants more to be educated

ANC Youth League (ANCYL) spokesman Floyd Shivambu said that South Africa's educational system is not adequate enough to serve the country's skills development needs.

Of course, this is once again the old mantra of the ANC youth league, "Gimme, gimme, gimme!" Of course, it has nothing to do with the ABBA song. ANCYL thinks that since the ANC is running the country, that they should simply use public money all over the place to educate their cadres! Because, as this happens again and again, whenever ANCYL or even the ANC wants something for the citizens of this country, what they really mean is that they want it for those that are ANC/ANCYL members. I have heard so many times from people that I have spoken personally with, that they were turned away just before the final hurdle in job hunting merely because they were members of non-ANC parties. This scheme will once again be a way of keeping public education within ANC circles, using taxes paid for by the ordinary man in the street.

ANCYL must think that South Africa is rolling in the dough. In the U.S.A. the average in tuition fees at the top 18 universities is around R277,500 ($37,000) per annum. In England it works a bit differently, but there it comes to around R38,700 (£3,225) per annum.

Year

U.S.A.

England

1

R2,775,000,000

R387,000,000

2

R5,550,000,000

R774,000,000

3

R6,325,000,000

R1,161,000,000

4

R9,100,000,000

R1,548,000,000

TOTAL:

R23,750,000,000

R3,870,000,000

The above table shows what it would cost South Africa the first 4 years. Almost R24,000,000,000 in the U.S.A. and R4,000,000,000 in England! After the first 4 years, it will cost South Africa R36,400,000,000 per four years in the U.S.A. and R6,192,000,000 in England for those 4 year periods. This is assuming there are no fee increases over those periods. These exorbitant amounts of money are only for tuition fees and do not include the living expenses of the student! From the start of the 4th year of this program, South Africa will be forking out between R1,514,000,000 and R9,100,000,000 per annum.

According to a News24 report, ANCYL wants this "scholarship [to] take care of all the students' needs, including transport, accommodation, tuition fees, food and a monthly stipend." This could essentially double, and in some cases triple the amount spent on each student that the taxpayers would be paying for! This means that tax payers will pay between R3,028,000,000 and R4,542,000,000 per annum for South African students to study outside of South Africa! This amount excludes studying in the U.S.A.!

Apart from the already planned NHI tax, does this mean that if ANCYL gets its way we would get NET (National Education Tax)?

Does ANCYL really think that South Africa can afford to pay between 3 and 4 billion Rand per annum to send many undeserving kids into another country to study? What if these kids don't get their way over in FAR, FAR AWAY? Will they strike and burn down buildings and destroy property like they do here?

How many of those 10,000 kids that will be sent out on my hard earned money will actually make a success of it? What would be ANCYL's measure of success in this program? Who will be sent? Will students be sent based on skin colour (typical apartheid system) or on merit? Oh yes, merit to the ANC means having an ANC membership, doesn't it? How many of these students will actually qualify for entrance in those foreign universities?

Once again ANCYL shows that our country is in deep trouble if they are the barometer of the kind of leadership that they will provide to the country in the future. Their track record is against them: from a wood-working failure in Julius Malema and the nationalization of mines to this hare-brained educational scheme!

A country allowed to be ruled by fools will produce many more fools!

Bank Irresponsibility

At a time when the world economy is in recession, and especially here in South Africa where we already have an economy that can certainly not be seen as one of the strongest by a long shot, banks should encourage people to save and not to extend themselves too far. Yet, banks in South Africa are encouraging people to live more in credit and to become bound to those banks! This is simply irresponsible!

First National Bank, one of South Africa's biggest banks, is currently having a competition, running between 15 Nov 2009 and 31 Jan 2010, through which a person can win back his weekly spend on his credit card up to a maximum amount per card category. To see how a person can win, see the graphic here below.

fnb-card-spend

Based on the gold card category, if I am nuts enough (there are many such nuts out there), thinking that I could possibly win a week's spending back to a value of R6000, and I keep on trying, I could soon sit with a maxed out card with say, R40000 in debt. That means I bought stuff to the value of R40000 to win back R6000 and the bank owns me!

I know exactly what the bank would say. "You should know your limits! It is not our fault if you spend too much!" That is like telling a donkey not to over extend itself to get to the proverbial carrot on a stick. Many people are like that donkey, and while the bank holds out that carrot, the donkey will keep pursuing! Of course, FNB will not take responsibility for the donkey falling off a cliff while running after the carrot, which was held there by FNB, that was always just those few inches out of reach!

fnb-gold-credit-card FNB, and other banks should be doing more to get people to save money and not to enslave them. That is essentially what FNB is hoping for, the enslavement of their clients! People will go out and swipe those cards more and more, ensuring FNB of a much longer period of higher income.

By having competitions like this one, FNB and other banks try to ensure its own long term existence without thinking what it does to the people they enslave through this unconscionable trap! The fact is that they are willing to give away R220000 while they will be making millions via people having to pay back their credit card debt! SHAME ON YOU, FNB!

"The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender." - Proverbs 22:7

"Money never made a man happy yet, nor will it. There is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more a man has, the more he wants. Instead of its filling a vacuum, it makes one." - Ben Franklin

Global Warming Hysteria: coming for you this month!

Where do you think this AGW hysteria is leading to? BTW, AGW stands for Anthropogenic Global Warming, man-made global warming. To learn more about the global warming hoax being foisted upon the people of this planet, see my post of links on global warming here. Remember http://tinyurl.com/agwlinks, because this is where I keep adding more links to articles debunking the notion of AGW.

So, have you wondered about the question I posed at the beginning of this post? If AGW wins the day in Copenhagen and in similar meetings in the future, then the future for humanity will be sealed… extinction! And to wit, at the hands of humanity itself.

China has already spoken up concerning their fool-proof method for stemming the AGW tide… population control! Even now, there are voices from countries like Canada pointing to this same solution.

Wesley J. Smith, author of the blog Second Hand Smoke, featured at First Things, highlighted the call for this solution to population control:

Global Warming Hysteria: The Potential for Tyranny
Global Warming Hysteria: The Potential For Tyranny 2

So, will you be standing first in line to show your commitment to the "cause," or will you rather keep standing against the tyrannical hysteria of the AGW proponents?

Medical fraternity in South Africa may just destroy your life!

Without saying anything, I want you to visit these links which deal with the medical fraternity in South Africa and the care you could expect from them.

Mom dies in hospital "mistake"
Medical waste dumped in yard
Medical waste burnt at office
Wrong op costs baby her legs
Baby maimed during labour

These are just a few of the horror stories in South Africa.

Now this is not what it is like at every hospital and all doctors' rooms. There are some brilliant doctors out there and some really good hospitals, but the scenarios above are becoming all too common!

Could this be one result of affirmative action? I would like to see some statistics on this.

Driving in South Africa - Pt 4

Read Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 if you haven't yet.

What is it with South Africans and the right-hand lane?

Here in South Africa, since we drive on the left-hand side of the road as in England, the right-hand lane is considered the fast lane, unlike in countries like the U.S.A. where it is the complete opposite.

In this country, people just love the fast lane, even if they are slow drivers. What is it with that? Why is it that on our highways, where our speed limit is mostly 120km/h, there are always several cars travelling at 100km/h or less… in the fast lane?

The problem with this is that it causes problems with traffic flow. The end result of this, especially on busy highways is a major traffic jam on the highway. There is a definitive concertina effect on busy highways when slow cars pop up in the fast lane, eventually leading to complete stops.

Remember, here in South Africa the rule is: "Keep LEFT, pass RIGHT!" Click here for more South African rules of the road.

Another thing that keeps popping up, is people who know that they accelerate slowly will stop in the fast lane at traffic lights or stop signs. Then, when the light turns green, these people will accelerate at the speed of a coral reef! I see that so often when approaching a red traffic light and there are perhaps 2 cars waiting at the light in the left-hand lane. The next person to arrive is really slow, but insists on stopping in front in the right-hand lane. Of course, the people arriving after this assume that the right-hand lane would be quicker with acceleration.

What a surprise to find out that old Mrs. Coral Reef is standing in the front of the fast lane! Apart from messing with traffic flow, this also causes people to get upset with either getting away to slowly, or even being denied getting across the green light because Mrs. Coral Reef was to slow in the front, not letting more people make it across the green light.

Another thing is that many South Africans love sitting in the fast lane playing police man. They will refuse anyone to pass in the right-hand lane that is going faster than the allowable speed. There are others, going slow in the fast lane, who simply do not care and will sit there as if it is their right to stay in that lane.

If each of us drives where and like we are supposed to, we would all have a more pleasant driving experience. By being selfish, we cause others to be unhappy on the road, and at times it becomes so bad that road rage is the end result.

Here is an interesting page called Slower Traffic Keep Right. Of course, if you are from South Africa, read "left" for "right" and "right" for "left!" Wherever this site mentions left, you should read "right" and vice versa.

So, for safe driving in South Africa
(especially you South Africans)

Next, Part 5.
